Freaky Friday Blog Hop

|

Welcome, if you're following along our blog hop today your just came from Nancy's sight and saw her awesome project!
Thanks so much to Scrap N' Stamp for hosting this today, you can find the links to everyone participating at the bottom of my post.

I loved playing with these Tim Holtz Ancestors Paper Dolls. I really wanted to use the larger pieces and make one of them the focal point. I kept it simple and chose the 2 witches. Don't they look so fun?!

My border was cut using the Memory Box Postage strips die. This set is so versatile, I love it.  This was my only pop of colour. Everything else I kept neutral and dark but chose feminine elements.

The background is actually a 4x6 card I cut down, because I loved the back vintage rose, and the lighter paper makes my witches 'pop'.

An old wood stamp I had that said BOO, is simple yet fun. I added the twine bow to keep with the feminine feeling.  A set of these in a cute box would be an awesome gift for someone with an October birthday.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to continue on and check out all the awesome projects today!!

This chunky beaver is too cute!

I really wanted to make my kids some bookmarks for all their summer reading.
To play up the bucky beaver teeth I used a Smile word die from MFT Stamps because I thought this sentiment I created was would be hilarious to my kids.

I wanted it to be really fun and chose to make it into a shaker bookmark. This was an great opportunity to pull out the Fuse tool and put it to work. In hindsight, I wouldn't have used the seed beads, as they are just to chunky (duh!) but they really make it a lot of fun.

The background I quickly ink-blended with some red-toned Hero Arts inks, in order to give it a little interest. Then out came my trusty Copics to do some quick colouring on the images.

The finishing touches like the silver grommet and red ribbon tie it all together. My favourite part is this awesome tag die with the maple leaf. I know I will be pulling that out often, if not for just the maple leaf die.

Your next stop is with Amber Trubiak at http://foreverambersart.blogspot.ca/

Pretty Gift Tags Using Grow | A Muse Studios Guest Designer

|

I am over at the A Muse Studio blog as a Guest Designer and I am so honoured!
I will be sharing my projects featured all month long on my blog here.
You can check it all out at their blog here.

I have also filmed my process for these gorgeous little tags, using the Grow stamp set and some beautiful paper. Please visit my channel here and subscribe!

This saying is just everything. I cannot read it without giggling!
To make it stand out I gold embossed it on white and left the rest blank to write your note.

A Muse Studio has some really pretty twines and ribbon, I used a few different kinds here to coordinate with my water-coloured images.

These were so much fun to make and great for gifts.
Thank you to A Muse Studio for having me!

I will see you all later this week with more of my projects!

Bright Copic Colouring | 30 Day Colouring Challenge

|

This card is a product of all my colouring for the 30 Day Colouring Challenge hosted by The Daily Marker.  I took my time and coloured maybe one bird a day which may seem slow but life is busy. Also the point of the challenge is not to make a masterpiece everyday, it is to take even a few minutes for yourself to relax and do something you love. So I consider this a success for me. There is even still time to join in for the month of March.

These images are from MFT Stamps Polynesian Paradise, another of my favourites. I googled Toucans and Parrots and found some photos that really stood out to me and tried to emulate the bright colours.

Blending bright colours together with Copic markers can be pretty tricky. The brighter colours want to pick up the colour of the darker shades. So being careful and methodical was my best bet here, laying down the light colours first and keeping a light hand with my darker shades.

Warm wishes and sunny smiles to all of you!!

5 Minute Card | Valentines Card

|

Don't you love it when you can achieve an awesome result with minimal effort? Yeah, me too.
This card came together in under 5 minutes and isn't it gorgeous?

Watch this 1 minute video to see how I did it.
(And don't forget to visit my new channel and subscribe!)

The most time consuming part? Putting the foam tape on the back. Seriously.
I taped down my Concord & 9th layers of love die in place and ran it through my Big Shot. This die has so much detail and impact, its really all the card needs.

I chose a pretty subtle floral for the background so it enhances the die cut. I couldn't find this paper pack any longer so I linked to a few 6x6 paper packs that have gorgeous florals (and other prints) in them.

All it needed was a great classic looking sentiment and this one makes my heart sing. Something about it, maybe it reminds me of my hubby.

Thank you so much for stopping by, we'll see you next time.
Don't forget to share!

Prima Metallic Watercolors | Masculine Birthday Card

|
Making masculine cards is hard! By nature I want everything to be pretty and girly, so I really pushed myself to make a design that is gorgeous but would still appeal to a man.

Watch my video to see how I made it!
Visit my channel to subscribe.

The Neat and Tangle Celebrate die is beautiful, I love the two layers, you can do so much with them. A general statement like this can also be used for birthdays, accomplishments, etc. They are extremely versatile.

I heat embossed my balloons in silver and watercolored them with the Prima Metallic Watercolours. These are definitely creamy and easy to use. They made this card so simple and fast.

A few sequins (that could be left off) tie the silver embossing together.

I hope you enjoyed this card, please share and we will see you next time!
