Easter Thank You Card

My favourite thing to do is mix and match my stamp sets. This is what I believe gives them versatility and you helps you get the most use from them.

Today I used Lawn Fawns' Chirpy-Chirp-Chirp and MFT Adorable Elephants to create this Easter thank you card. I did some fairly basic Copic colouring. The only 'tricky' part was making my egg pile using some masking. You need to stamp the eggs you want in the fore-ground first then mask them and the rest will look like they are in the background.

Bright Copic Colouring | 30 Day Colouring Challenge

This card is a product of all my colouring for the 30 Day Colouring Challenge hosted by The Daily Marker.  I took my time and coloured maybe one bird a day which may seem slow but life is busy. Also the point of the challenge is not to make a masterpiece everyday, it is to take even a few minutes for yourself to relax and do something you love. So I consider this a success for me. There is even still time to join in for the month of March.

These images are from MFT Stamps Polynesian Paradise, another of my favourites. I googled Toucans and Parrots and found some photos that really stood out to me and tried to emulate the bright colours.

Blending bright colours together with Copic markers can be pretty tricky. The brighter colours want to pick up the colour of the darker shades. So being careful and methodical was my best bet here, laying down the light colours first and keeping a light hand with my darker shades.

Hatchling Spring Time Card

Today is just a quick post, I've been so busy lately. I have not had a lot of time to dedicate to crafting or blogging, as my family is my priority. 

However I managed to squeeze this cute little card in this week!

This set is from Lawn Fawn and so adorable as usual. I did some easy stamping and heat embossing in white then some quick ink blending on top. When you use Bristol smooth it blends like butter.

A fancy stitched edge on an angle and a sentiment in black to ground the card and I was done.

Kiss the Cook | Thank You for Dinner/Baking

I made this card as a Thank You for someone inviting us to dinner. You could also use it as a Thank You when someone makes you baked goods, etc.

This is a stamp and die set I found at Micheals from Sizzix a while back, although there are many companies with similar images and sentiments now.

I did some really quick Copic colouring and added Glossy Accents to give a little detail. The matching dies made this card really simple to pull together.

I love the cherries, I might use just that image to make something fun next.

Hello | Sympathy/Friendship Card

Today I tried to do some ink blending on Kraft cardstock. This is a really fun and simple technique.

I used the Fancy Florals again from MFT Stamps. I love the detail of these flowers. I heat embossed them in white, so they would pop against the darker paper.

I used a mini ink blending tool to try and blend Hero Arts dye inks. While I liked the look, it wasn't vibrant enough for me. Thats when I went in with some Distress Markers. I simply coloured in the area and used a paper towel to quickly wipe off any excess and blend it.

I die cut a Hello sentiment in yellow and topped it with Glossy Accents. My sentiment is from MFT Stamps as well.

I went in with a White Sakura Gel pen and drew some dots to give it some whimsy. Then I ran some Wink of Stella glitter pen over the flowers for shine. Finally I added a few drops of Glossy Accents just for fun.
