Black, White & Gold | Valentines Card

|

With this card I was just messing around with embossing powders. This card has a really art deco kind of feel doesn't it?

I wasn't able to make a video today, but you can visit my channel here, to see my other card videos. Please subscribe!

I used Concord & 9th Love Layers die again, cutting it twice. Before cutting it on the white I covered the paper with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder. This gives it a pretty shine, you can't really get from the pictures.

I also used Stick It adhesive to make it easy to piece the heart together. After die-cutting the Lawn Fawn Scripty Mine, I embossed it twice in gold, giving it a metal look. In the end I also added Glossy Accents to it as well.

To get the gold edges, I took the Versamark pad and rubbed it all over. After I dip it in the embossing powder, I was able to take a brush and wipe off any spots I did't like or where there was too much. I really wanted it to keep the messy look though for contrast to the black and white lines.

I used sequins to create a streak across the card, just for fun. I decided I needed something more and added the 'I love you' sentiment as well.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

You Turn Me On | Valentines Card

|

We're in the home stretch to Valentines Day. This is just a fun card with just a small amount of Copic Colouring. I feel like this sentiment would make any man laugh.

I used some light grey to give the white bulbs some shading; and yellows for the on bulb. The white card front is placed on a black card base. I loved the contrast.

I die cut the heart using Concord & 9th Love Layers and placed a subtle yellow pattern paper behind it. I also wanted it to look like the lightbulbs were hanging from the 'ceiling' if you will and thought this design was fun.

I put the switch on the bottom, like its in the middle of the 'wall'.  I popped it up with some foam tape as well as the light bulbs which gives it some dimension like they are swinging.

I gave it some finishing touches like Wink of Stella and clear sequins for shine.

This was a fun card to design, I hope you enjoyed it.

5 Minute Card | Valentines Card

|

Don't you love it when you can achieve an awesome result with minimal effort? Yeah, me too.
This card came together in under 5 minutes and isn't it gorgeous?

Watch this 1 minute video to see how I did it.

The most time consuming part? Putting the foam tape on the back. Seriously.
I taped down my Concord & 9th layers of love die in place and ran it through my Big Shot. This die has so much detail and impact, its really all the card needs.

I chose a pretty subtle floral for the background so it enhances the die cut. I couldn't find this paper pack any longer so I linked to a few 6x6 paper packs that have gorgeous florals (and other prints) in them.

All it needed was a great classic looking sentiment and this one makes my heart sing. Something about it, maybe it reminds me of my hubby.

Thank you so much for stopping by, we'll see you next time.
