Simple Watercolouring Backgrounds | Make it With Your Kids Series #2

|

This is one of my favourite backgrounds to make using Distress Inks. It is so simple, quick and cool looking.

Using Copic markers I coloured my bear and birdies. To get the textured look you gently make dots, overlapping with different intensities. It gives a great furry bear look.

I used some stamps from Lawn Fawns Let's Party and PA-RUM-PA-PUM-PUM (which is a Christmas set). I loved the bear image and the saying that went with it. To make it work for this non-Christmas card I used some masking to block out 'Christmas' and added 'Birthday' from the other set.

I didn't get very fancy with my sentiment, I wanted the focus to be mainly on the background.

I did decide after the fact to frame out the panel with some Kraft coloured cardstock, to tie in the brown bear.

Adding some little white embellishments finished it off.

I hope you enjoyed this card!
Thanks for visiting and I'll see you next time!
